Wells H. Keddie Scholarship Wells Hamilton Keddie, labor and social justice educator and activist, died suddenly at his home in Piscataway, NJ on April 1, 2006. Professor Emeritus of Labor Studies at Rutgers University's School of Management and Labor Relations, Wells was a stalwart in the faculty union, a joint affiliate of the American Association of University Professors and American Federation of Teachers, serving in virtually every leadership capacity, including several terms as President.
An ardent advocate of animal rights and enemy of class, race, gender, and other systems of inequality, Wells often described himself as "Still pointed in my chosen direction and fighting like hell to get there."
He is survived by his wife Mary Gibson, daughter Heather S. Keddie, son Hamilton Keddie, brother Douglas Keddie, grandchildren, great grandchildren, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Wells H. Keddie Scholarship
The 2007 recipient of the Wells H. Keddie Scholarship is Sumia Ibrahim, a junior pursuing a double major in Political Science and Art History. Suguna Sridhar, a junior in Political Science, is the runner-up with an Honorable Mention award. Both students were honored at a luncheon held on April 19, 2007, after the Executive Council Meeting of the Rutgers AAUP-AFT.
The 2006 recipient of the Wells H. Keddie Scholarship was Celeste Barretto, a junior and Classics major at Douglass College. Avianna Perez, a Sociology and Dance major at Mason Gross was chosen to receive an Honorable Mention. Both women were honored at the April 19, 2006 Executive Council Meeting of the Rutgers AAUP-AFT.
