The Choice is Clear- Jon Corzine for Governor
Senator Jon Corzine has a clear vision for the future of higher education and deserves our support as the next Governor of New Jersey. His policies include increased student aid, investment in university research and infrastructure, equity for part-time faculty, employee representation on governing boards, and respect for academic freedom and faculty governance. His opponent is less clear on his higher education priorities and has fewer details, apart from promising to appoint more business leaders to our governing boards. For these reasons, as well as his strong voting record on higher education issues in the U.S. Senate, we urge you to vote for Jon Corzine to become our next Governor on November 8, 2005.

New Jersey General Assembly Endorsements
On Nov. 8, we must send legislators to Trenton who are committed to working with us to resolve the issues of affordability and accessibility in higher education. Our elected representatives to the State Assembly must stand with us in support of higher education funding. The candidates listed below have committed themselves to quality higher education in New Jersey and they deserve your strong consideration on Election Day. They have earned the endorsement of the Rutgers Council of AAUP Chapters, AAUP-AFT.
We should like to highlight three key Assembly races that deserve your special attention: Assemblywoman Linda Greenstein in the 14 th District and Assemblymen Michael Panter and Robert Morgan in the 12 th District. Dr. Morgan is an AAUP member at UMDNJ. Assemblyman Panter and Assemblywoman Greenstein have each demonstrated their strong support for higher education and the faculty and staff at Rutgers. We urge you to support their re-election efforts.
The following endorsements were made by the Rutgers AAUP-AFT Executive Council based on candidate voting records and responses to our legislative questionnaire. You will note that we chose not to endorse in every race and, after careful consideration, decided to endorse based solely on the above criteria and not on party affiliation. It is the goal of the AAUP-AFT at Rutgers to create an independent voice that will help to elect those that embrace our vision and who will work to achieve its goals.
